The Duchess of Sussex’s awkward encounter with an aide outside Windsor Castle has left people divided, with many accusing the mother-of-two of being ‘rude’.
As Prince Harry and Meghan make a surprise appearance alongside the Prince and Princess of Wales, well-wishers gathered outside the royal estate to greet the ‘fab four.’
Most fans were all smiles to see the four of them walking side by side as it was more than two years ago when they were last seen together.
However, one moment has caused a debate on social media.
Meghan was walking outside Windsor Castle with Harry and Prince William and Kate when the incident happened.
In the video shared on Twitter, the Duchess of Sussex could be seen holding a bunch of pink roses and talking to mourners when an aide talked to her from behind.
Meghan whirled around quickly with what Twitter users claimed to be ‘annoyance’ on her face before smiling again.
“She was rude to the aide when he went to take her flowers and she wanted to hold onto them for a PR stunt later. In mid sentence she saw the camera and put on her phony ‘thank you, I appreciate it’ act,” one person wrote.
“See how her anger flashes across her face briefly? Then she remembers and says thank you to the poor person trying to help her. Why the rush? Where’s the fire? Did she discover a camera NOT trained on her?” another said.
“Don’t know what it was about, but she certainly looks dismissive and rude,” a third added.
But many defended the Duchess, with one Twitter user saying: “GIVE HER A BREAK she did the walkabout yesterday it must have taken some courage to do so, not knowing how people would react, but she did, supporting Harry and no one knows what was said or intended between brothers.”
Another said: “Why is a girl bad if she sticks up for herself???? There are three sides to every story and everybody should worry about putting together a family in peace and stop nitpicking on everything.”
