Meghan and Harry have been branded as entitled brats and hypocrites after lashing out at the monarchy while profiting off of their titles.
Slamming the Montecito couple were millions of viewers who couldn’t believe their eyes and ears after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex mocked the late Queen’s Commonwealth legacy by calling it Empire 2.0 and drew links between Brexit and racism in the UK.
Among the critics of the couple was also Meghan McCain, an American TV personality, author, and Daily Mail columnist, who insisted that Meghan and Harry are playing victims while going “full Kardashian.”
Writing for a DailyMail.com column, McCain urged viewers not to watch the new Netflix series Harry & Meghan because it is a “one-sided, vicious and manipulative” American-style “political hit job.”
She went on to say that the Montecito couple successfully accused the Royal Family and the British of being racists while focusing only on the parts of their story that suit their narrative.
“Following the logical is dizzying. But their point is clear. Harry and Meghan never stood a chance. There’s no mention of adoring crowds cheering for the newlywed couple or Prince Charles walking Meghan half-way down the aisle. That doesn’t suit the narrative,” McCain wrote.
“Meghan repeatedly claims that she had no idea what she was getting herself into when dating Harry. She was just an innocent fawn in the meadow waiting to be taken down by the monarchy. On the other hand, Meghan is a smart and powerful woman in her own right. Her supposed naivete is wholeheartedly unbelievable.”
Taking a jab at Prince Harry, she added: “A big part of the series is reliving Harry’s admittedly traumatic childhood. Over and over again, he talks about how he was exploited by paparazzi and how growing up under the glare of the media still haunts him today.
“All of this makes their foray into high-end ‘reality’ television even more strange. The Sussexes have gone full Kardashian.”
The author went on to accuse the couple of being hypocrites by bashing the monarchy as they continue talking about it for the sake of profit.
“Everything is shown through the lens of how they want the world to see them and their lives, and not how it actually is,” McCain added.
