Meghan And Harry’s Decision To Leave Immediately After Funeral Left William And Kate Feeling ‘Relieved Drama Was Gone,’ Royal Expert Claims

The Prince and Princess of Wales ‘felt a sense of relief’ when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex left almost immediately after the Queen’s funeral, a royal correspondent has claimed.

Prince Harry and Meghan, who were already in the UK when Her Majesty passed away at Balmoral Castle on September 8, returned to the US right after the state funeral to be reunited with their children Archie and Lilibet.

The couple joined the royals for the ceremonies of the late monarch’s funeral, making a surprise appearance with Prince William and Kate in meeting mourners outside Windsor Castle.

When Harry and Meghan left hours after the funeral, William and Kate were said to have ‘felt relief,’ royal correspondent Katie Nicholl said.

“After Harry announced their departure, William summoned aides to address the future, in what has been referred to by some in William’s circle as the ‘Anmer Summit.’

“But William and Kate also felt a sense of relief, that ‘the drama was gone’ when Harry and Meghan left, as a source told me. To this day, William still cannot forgive his brother.”

This comes after a source close to the Royals said to US Weekly that the Sussexes were anxious to go back to California to see their two children.

“Meghan and Harry are preparing to return to Montecito almost immediately after the funeral, where they’ll be reunited with Archie and Lilibet after being separated for over two weeks,” the source said.

The insider also said that it was the “longest amount of time” Harry and Meghan had spent apart from their kids.

The Sussexes flew to Europe on September 4 to attend a series of philanthropic events. They extended their stay after the Queen passed away.

“They’ve missed the kids like crazy and have been FaceTiming them every day, but can’t wait to see and hold them again after a poignant few weeks,” the source added.
