The Duchess of Sussex was caught on camera admiring a beautiful wreath made by pre-school children in Windsor.
Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry made a surprise appearance with the Prince and Princess of Wales and thanked well-wishers who gathered outside Windsor Castle to pay respects to the late Queen.
One heartwarming conversation was captured on camera as the former Suits star accepted a handmade wreath created by nursery children.
The Duchess of Sussex also promised to leave the handmade gift at the gate.
Lyndsey Phillips, 35, said it was a welcomed surprise to meet Meghan, describing her as ‘so lovely.’
In the video, Meghan can be seen smiling and shaking hands with members of the public before accepting the paper wreath from Lyndsey’s colleague, Hannah Carpenter.
“Oh beautiful! Should I put that at the gate for you?” she says before nodding her head and adding, “Of course.”
Meghan then asked Hannah: “Oh, who are the handprints from?”
Hannah told the Duchess that the nursery children made it, to which Meghan replied: “That’s beautiful, thank you. I’ll make sure it gets placed today.”
Speaking to The Mirror, Lyndsey – who works at The Shooting Box Day Nursery in Kent – said: “We were originally there to place a handprinted wreath that the nursery children I work with made.”
“One of the children wanted us to place it with the other tributes at the ‘Queen’s house’ as he called it. We were so lucky to be able to hand it to Meghan who was so lovely, spending the time to find out about who made the wreath,” Lyndsey added.
She also shared the video on Instagram and wrote: “Feel so lucky that we were able to be at Windsor Castle when Prince William, Kate, Prince Harry and Meghan were doing their surprise visit to take in all the wonderful flowers and tributes.”
One person commented: “Meghan was so kind and sweet.”
Another wrote: “She always says the kindest things and really pays attention!”
