The Duchess of Sussex has paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II in so many ways with her attire for Her Majesty’s funeral.
Looking elegant in a black cape dress by Stella McCartney, Meghan wore a set of diamond and pearl earrings given to her by the late monarch before their first solo engagement in 2018.
Royal fans might find her dress familiar and that’s because she wore a blue version of it to a concert celebrating the Queen’s 92nd birthday at the Royal Albert Hall in April 2018.
Her attire adhered to the Queen’s funeral dress code, which called for black knee-length dresses or coats and black hats or veils.
The Duchess decided to wear the style in black as she bid farewell to the beloved Queen.
One fan who noticed the special meaning behind Meghan’s style took to Twitter and wrote: “Her whole look was about the Queen today. Talk about being thoughtful.”
During her joint appearance with the Queen in 2018, she decided to wear a cream-colored Givenchy cape dress.
Meghan also wore caped downs during her royal tours of the South Pacific and Morocco before she and her husband Harry stepped down from their royal duties.
The Queen Consort, Princess of Wales, Countess of Wessex and Duchess of Sussex were together outside Westminster Abbey after the Queen’s state funeral.
Camilla was visibly emotional as she stood outside the abbey after the late monarch’s service, where she was joined by her sister-in-law Sophie.
Kate stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Camila and Meghan, who was seen using her gloved hand to wipe her tears away.
This marks the first time Meghan has shown the extend of her grief for Harry’s grandmother in public.
While their relationship have not always been easy, they all stood united while watching the late monarch’s coffin being moved onto a gun carriage to be transported from the Abbey.
