Tragic reports have confirmed an incident involving an optometrist from Florida who was mauled by a mega 8-foot-long gator that clamped onto her arm in a harrowing tug of war.
This saw her husband pulling on one side and the reptile on the other until she finally broke free.
Amber Perren praised her spouse’s heroic actions and now plans to mount the scaly predator’s skull in her office after surviving the vicious Marion County attack that shattered her forearm and left her mangled hand dangling earlier this past summer, WPTV shared.
While boating on the St. Lucie River with her partner, and their dog, Perren stepped into the water to wet her hair when she was suddenly grabbed by the gator and yanked beneath the surface. “I saw the gator’s head, eye to eye’- the eye doctor mentioned regarding the horror.
‘My mind was to get away and get away as fast as I could. The monstrous reptile continued to latch onto her right arm, sparking a fierce struggle for me to break free’- her husband continued.
Her husband managed to pull her back, but the gator continued to pull her again, and she came loose. He mentioned that the gator’s head was nearly two feet lon,g with its full body stretching roughly for a whopping 8 feet. After getting freed, Kelby raced his wife to the boat and a nearby dock, where first responders treated her injuries before she was airlifted to a Fort Pierce trauma center.
