Shocking and tragic details about Matthew Perry’s life are taking center stage after the celeb’s sudden death.
Perry reportedly underwent dozens of life-saving surgeries and had 15 trips to rehab clicks too. Meanwhile, he is believed to have spent close to $9 million in trying to get clean and sober as he battled with drugs and alcohol.
The 54-year-old drowned in the jacuzzi at home as explained by sources on Saturday while no drugs were located at the scene. At the same time, no indication of foul play was mentioned.
On the other hand, first responders were also called to the scene after reports of a cardiac arrest at his home in LA were received.
Meanwhile, Perry had previously shed light on his battle with drug and alcohol addiction in the tell-all autobiography Friends, Lovers, And The Big Terrible Thing. This was reportedly released in the month of November 2022.
In the year 2019, the star narrowly escaped death after his colon bust opened due to opioid overuse. Moreover, he described the moment that his loved ones were seen racing to the same hospital where he happened to be admitted. This was the moment when the loved ones were informed about him having just a two percent chance of survival.
He similarly slipped into a coma for two weeks and that’s when he discovered that he had been fitted with the colostomy bag that he had to wear for the next nine months. Then a few years later he suffered from another major brush with his death at a rehab facility that arose in Switzerland.
This was the point in time when doctors administered a sedative that ended up interacting with the drugs in his ravaged body and that is what caused his heart to stop beating for a while.
