Matthew Perry broke down in tears during an emotional reunion with his Friends co-stars, two years before he passed away at the age of 54.
Perry, who played Chandler Bing in the show, was left in tears after an outpouring love from his co-stars Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, and Jennifer Aniston.
“It was an incredible time. We became best friends,” his on-screen wife Cox, who played Monica Geller, said.
Perry then admitted: “Yep, I’m going to cry now.”
In the HBO reunion, the actor admitted that he only had $11 before he landed the role. He also revealed that he would have panic attacks about learning his lines as he was battling mental health and addiction.
The hit series ran for ten seasons, premiering in 1994. The final episode was aired in 2004 and broke records with over 50 million viewers.
Perry also revealed that his favorite episode was ‘The One Where Everybody Finds Out,’ which was when others found out about Monica and Chandler’s relationship.
Days before the premiere, Perry made an appearance on Good Morning America and said that reuniting with his Friends co-stars was “gonna be a really seriously emotional experience.”
Courteney added: “I don’t think any of us had any idea how emotional we would be when we walked onto the set.”
Kudrow, who played Phoebe Buffay, also said: “Truth is, I didn’t cry walking out onto the set. And now I can’t stop.”
“Floodgates open,” Aniston said.
Perry passed away at the age of 54 after ‘drowning in his jacuzzi at home,’ sources revealed to Daily Mail.
Authorities reportedly responded to his Los Angeles home around 4pm where he was found unresponsive.
There was no signs of foul play and there were no substances discovered at the scene.
