Matthew Perry’s grieving mother, father, and stepfather were seen arriving at his home in Los Angeles only hours after the actor was found dead.
Police blocked the area and a white tent had been set up beside the hot tub and swimming pool in the backyard.
Perry’s father John, 82, was joined by his mom Suzanne and stepfather Keith Morrison who were all looking stricken as they arrived at the property.
According to reports, Perry, who played the role Chandler Bing in the hit sitcom Friends, was found in a jacuzzi at his LA home. There was no indication of foul play and no drugs were found at the scene.
Only a week before his sudden passing, Perry delighted his fans by posting a photo of him and his father on Instagram.
John had also appeared in 1998 Friends episode ‘The One With Rachel’s New Dress’ as Mr. Burgin, the father of Joshua Burgin (played by Tate Donovan) who was dating Rachel (Jennifer Aniston).
In his memoir ‘Friends, Lovers, and The Big Terrible Thing,’ Perry also opened up about his relationship with his father and detailed the moment his dad left after his split from his mom.
“I was one. Yeah. So, I didn’t blame myself quite yet. But…” he said in a 2004 interview with NBC, adding that he only saw his father on television.
“That was mostly the way that I saw my father when I was young…” he expressed.
“On TV shows, and you know, getting shot through a door on Mannix, or something like that. That’s my Dad.”
Years after their separation, Suzanne, a Canadian journalist, tied the knot with Keith Morrison, a prominent broadcast journalist, in 1981.
Morrison told PEOPLE in a 2020 interview that his stepson Matthew had been ‘remarkable.’
“He’s an intense, talented, focused character. He’s very bright. That was always the case as he was growing up,” he said. “We love having him around.”
