Matthew Perry has paid a touching tribute to co-star Bruce Willis after the actor’s shocking diagnosis and early retirement.
Earlier this week, the family of 67-year-old Hollywood legend Bruce Willis came together as they shared a heartbreaking statement in which they confirmed the Die Hard star would be retiring due to a brain disorder known as aphasia.
Now, Friends star Matthew Perry, who worked alongside Bruce on The Whole Nine Yards (2000) and the movie’s 2004 sequel The Whole Ten Yards, paid the iconic actor a tear-jerking tribute in which he called him the “coolest man” he’s ever met.
“Dear Bruce Willis, I’m so sorry to hear what you are going through, but you’re still the coolest man I’ve met in my entire life,” Perry wrote.
“You will remain in my prayers for a long long time. Maybe we should get together and watch the whole 10 yards and get a couple of hours of sleep.”
The tribute comes shortly after it was revealed that Willis was diagnosed with a brain condition known as aphasia which affects his cognitive abilities and his language comprehension.
According to the actor’s family, the Armageddon star “is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him” due to complications arising from his medical condition.
Following the news, Willis’ former co-star John Travolta has also spoken out to pay a tear-jerking tribute to his “good friend” who worked with him on the sets of Pulp Fiction and Look Who’s Talking.
“Bruce and I became good friends when we shared 2 of our biggest hits together, Pulp Fiction and Look Who’s Talking,” the actor expressed as he shared two photos of him and Bruce.
“Years later he said to me, ‘John, I just want you to know that when something good happens to you I feel like it’s happening to me.’ That’s how generous a soul he is. I love you Bruce.”
