Two teenage boys passed away, and five more were injured in a mass shooting incident that took place in downtown Indianapolis.
The tragedy arose just a few hours after the city’s Fourth of July fireworks display.
The IMPD was responding to a disturbance that took place at about 1:20 pm local time. This is when the authorities were informed about another disturbance that took place in Illinois, and that’s when shots were fired.
Authorities mentioned how several people with gunshot wounds were brought to the scene, right before emergency services transported them to local hospitals for treatment. One victim drove himself to the hospital.
Two people passed away due to the shooting; one 16-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene, and another 15-year-old was declared dead after being hospitalized. As per the IMPD, which confirmed in a new update, investigations are still taking place.
The shooting victims were in the age range of 15 to 21 years, and the neighborhood is said to be on alert and shaken by what had just taken place.
