Kate Cunningham married an Elder tree in Sefton at the Rimrose Valley Country park and now, she’s gearing up to change her surname to Elder too.

In case you’re wondering why she opted to marry a tree in the first place, well, the answer is pretty straightforward. She did not want it to get chopped down and being an absolute nature at heart, she felt the need to ‘marry’ it as her last resort towards its savior.

Despite being a mother to two beautiful children, this woman is raising eyebrows around the globe after saying that her relationship with the Elder tree is going stronger than ever.

“We are more loved up this season than ever and that’s why I’m looking forward to spending Christmas with my Elder,” she explained.

The mom who works as a carer for her own autistic son is also a true environmentalist who visits her tree up to five times a week. Moreover, she has even gone about decorating it with a wreath, some colorful baubles, and even bold-toned tinsel as well.
