There can be nothing worse than a bittersweet thank-you gift and this next story is based on those lines and more.
A man claims he was beyond appalled to receive a few packets of sweets from a leading company Haribo after he found a mega $4 million check lying around. Hence, the man opted to return the check and the company felt that it was alright to reward him with just six packs of sweets.
The reason why the incident is such a mega shocker has to do with the fact that the firm earns a turnover of hundreds of millions of pounds every year.
But the firm refuses to acknowledge his hard work to such a great extent. They felt that the ‘lost check’ should be destroyed immediately and that’s what they asked him to do. In return, he got a few sweet snacks and it’s mindblowing to some.
“They gave me a measly six-pack of gummies as my reward. How convenient of them. I honestly did some hard work in helping them save some of their extra funds!”- he revealed. But even after the story went viral, we are yet to hear the firm speak about any other rewards in store.
The 38-year-old man named Anouar G who hails from Frankfurt in Germany revealed how he saw the check sitting on the train that he happened to set his eyes on while on the go to see his mother.
The mega numbers that accounted for a figure that was more than $4 million really left him startled. For him, the figures were huge and he knew that he needed to do something about it.
“The figure was so large that it was extremely difficult for me to pronounce it”- he adds.
