“I did not tell my wife and child for fear that they would be too complacent and would not work or work hard in the future,” the lottery winner told Nanning Evening News.

After admitting he was, in fact, thrilled about the huge winnings, Mr. Li revealed he traveled to the Guangxi Zhuang capital of Nanning with a train to collect the money.

He also said he didn’t want to leave the hotel where he was staying for the entire weekend because he was afraid of losing his ticket on the way to the lottery office.
