Reports have gone on to indicate that during a routine audit of the French tax system, Brigitte Macron discovered her personal tax account was listed with her as Jean Michel Macron, which was a male first name, instead of her correct name.
As per officials, the change was not attributed to a simple software glitch but actually a group of hackers that deliberately chose to intervene and cause trouble for her in the database.
Two suspects were identified as being directly linked to this matter, sparking outrage in her administration.
The news has resurfaced a long-standing conspiracy theory alleging that she was born male under the name ‘Jean Michel Trogneux’, which is a fake claim that has circulated online and been multiplied by social media influencers as well as different far-right figures.
Brigitte, alongside her husband Emmanuel Macron, has rolled out several different legal actions, including a recent US defamation lawsuit, to counter all such narratives coming in her direction.
She argued how the rumors are malicous and done to damage her reputation as they are baseless and have zero truth to them. This recent incident is proof of how her tax profile listing was intentionally meddled with to cause further embarrassment when the news went viral.
