A second man is now in a critical condition following the tragic incident that killed Malcolm Jamal Warner.
Warner is famous for his role as Theo Huxtable on The Cosby Show. He passed away at the age of 54 after a drowning incident while he was on vacation in Costa Rica, sources have confirmed.
Warner was said to be on a family trip in Cahuita, Limon, when this tragedy struck at Playa Grande. As per the Costa Rican Red Cross, the water-related emergency was reported at about 2:10 pm on Sunday.
By the time three ambulances arrived on the scene, Warner and another individual, who was an adult male, had already been dragged out of the water by bystanders, as per PEOPLE.
Warner was not responsive when first responders started to perform CPR. Despite the efforts, he was declared dead at the scene. The other individual was rushed to a nearby clinic in a critical state.
The Costa Rican Judicial Investigation Agency confirmed that Warner was swept away by a massive current. He was declared lifeless at the scene, and as per the authorities, his cause of death was ruled out to be asphyxiation through submission.
