Madonna has suffered another medical setback just a week after she resumed her world tour following a near-death experience.
Less than four months ago, the 65-year-old Queen of Pop was hospitalized for weeks after she was found unconscious at her home. The singer has since revealed she came down with a terrible bacterial infection while saying it’s a miracle she survived the ordeal that forced her to postpone her world tour.
The Like a Virgin hitmaker has since recovered and returned to the stage to resume her work commitments.
Unfortunately, Madonna now admitted she’s not feeling well just seven days into her world tour spanning over 78 dates.
Addressing her fans at her concert in Antwerp, Belgium, the pop star became overcome with emotion and she went on to reflect on her mother who passed away from cancer at the age of 33.
“I had this strange thought. I suddenly had sympathy and empathy for my mother. About how lonely she must have felt in the hospital, knowing that she wasn’t going to live. And I was given another chance,” the songstress said while tearing up.
“So I’m very grateful for that. I must tell you, I don’t feel very well right now. But I can’t complain because I’m alive. Thank God for my children and all of you, and all of your love and support. I really appreciate it.”
Madonna went on to say it was a miracle she had survived her health scare earlier this year.
“Less than four months ago I was in a hospital, and I was unconscious and people were thinking – predicting — that I might not make it,” she added.
“It’s a f**king miracle that I’m here right now. My mother, God bless her, she must be watching over me, she said, ‘Girl, it’s not your time to go.’”
Our thoughts are with Madonna as her recovery continues.
