Madonna’s boxer boyfriend has spoken out after the singer was hospitalized over a medical emergency.
On Saturday, the Queen of Pop was rushed to the hospital after vomiting uncontrollably and collapsing following a one-month silent bout with a minor fever.
After the singer’s hospitalization, it was revealed that Madonna’s family began preparing for the worst as the 64-year-old was intubated in the ICU.
Two days before Madonna’s management confirmed that the singer was incapacitated by her illness, her rumored boyfriend, 29-year-old boxer Josh Popper, shared a cryptic message possibly directed at the mother of one of his trainees.
“Give yourself permission to live a big life. Step into who you were meant to be. Stop playing small. You are meant for greater things,” Popper wrote.
“Thank you to my coach @fftstrong, my family, and the Bredwinners team for being by my side.”
The news comes after a relative of Madonna told DailyMail.com that the Like a Virgin hitmaker’s collapse came as she was preparing for her final tour which was set to kick off in July.
“For the past couple of days, no one really knew which direction this was going to turn, and her family was preparing for the worst,” the family member said.
“That is why it was kept a secret since Saturday. Everyone believed that we may lose her and that has been the reality of the situation.”
Fortunately, Madonna’s condition began to improve and the singer was discharged from the ICU. It is believed that she is currently back at her home where she is recovering from the health scare.
