Twin Peaks director David Lynch tragically passed away at the age of 78.
The four-time Oscar-nominated star’s family shared the tragic news through a post published on social media on Thursday.
The star who gained fame for directing his renowned iconic television series and the movie Blue Velvet was said to be battling poor health and was then homebound due to his severe condition of emphysema.
In another post shared through the Facebook app, his family shared how they were sad to make this announcement and hoped this day would never come.
They requested privacy during this testing time and also mentioned how there’s a major hole in the hearts of many after this incident.
David is served by his partner Emily Stofle, his daughter Jennifer, and his sons.
During the period 2006 to 2007, he happened to be married to Mary Sweeney and then got married to his wife Stofle but they went their separate ways in December of 2023.
Fans were quick to share their tributes and condolences to his loved ones during his tragic passing event. They also praised him for his very unique and dark vision that shaped the movie world.
