This year’s Video Music Awards comprised bold fashion statements and Lizzo definitely took the lead in that regard.
The celeb was seen shutting down the red carpet in a huge navy-colored dress. And it’s safe to say that many were beyond baffled as to what fashion statement she planned on making.
Lizzo arrived fashionably late at the MTV VMAs and pulling up in the eye-popping statement attire on Sunday really had the crowds and fashion critics in awe.
The 34-year-old singer stunning in her billowing gown which was designed by none other than Jean Paul Gaultier. To put some finishing touches to her look, she opted for daring gothic makeup using black lipstick and a lip ring too.
Fans couldn’t help but wonder why the Detroit native would choose something that made her appear so huge but others felt the gown was fit for a diva and Lizzo was no less.
Her dark tresses were seen sleekly styled and pulled back, making them appear classically wet. They continued to flow downwards toward her back.
The vampy look definitely got the attention that the celeb was looking for. And there were some accessories too that got her talking. They comprised sheer, navy opera gloves.
For her jewels, Lizzo dazzled in pair of gold-colored hoop earrings. All of her accessories varied in size and that is what added a sense of dynamics that really managed to pull the look together.
But Twitter was abuzz with people acting like the fashion police and really critiquing her appeal. Some approved, others not so much. But if there was one comment that was heard from all directions, well, it was linked to her resemblance to a stage curtain. Yikes, what are your thoughts on that one?
