Harvard University has reportedly hired an A-List team of lawyers that is Republican-aligned.
The move comes after President Trump vowed to revoke the educational institution’s tax-exempt status.
Trump shared the news with a threatening tone that was not taken well by the university who says he’s trying to retaliate against them for not giving the administration control of how the university is run and who is allotted admission.
Now, the Senate Democrats are going as far as to request the Treasury inspector general to investigate the matter.
Trump says he’s done nothing wrong, and it’s about time that they got what they deserved.
The university shared how Trump’s behavior is an awful misuse of the American tax code, which makes this a crime. It also opens up a new tab for the president, the Vice President, and any other White House employee to issue requests to the Internal Revenue Service to audit a certain entity or individual.
Let’s not forget the fact that Harvard is already suing the Trump administration over that announcement shared last month about the government freezing federal grants to the Ivy League university that amounted $2 billion for fund medical and other forms of scientific research.
