JUST IN: Panic Erupts As Five LIONS Escape Their Enclosure At Zoo


Panic erupted at an Australian zoo after five lions escaped their enclosure through a hole in the fence.

The shocking cage break took place at Taronga Zoo in Sydney, Australia, where five adult lions went on the run while tourists were sleeping just feet away from their enclosure as part of the zoo’s ‘Roar and Snore’ experience.

After realizing that the lions were missing, the zoo officials sounded an alarm and ordered everyone inside to flee to a “safe haven.”

Meanwhile, Code One alarm – which is reserved for extreme situations when “dangerous animals” are on the loose – was triggered.

Fortunately, all of the missing big cats were caught and no one was injured in the process.

In a Nine News helicopter footage, the zoo staff and dozens of police officers could be seen inspecting the lions’ enclosure and the fence that seemed to have a hole in it.

“An emergency situation occurred this morning at Taronga Zoo when five lions were located outside of their enclosure,” zoo officials confirmed in a statement.

“The zoo has strict safety protocols in place for such an incident. All persons onsite were moved to safe zones and there are no injuries to guests or staff.”

While the terrifying incident remains fresh, the zoo insisted there is no ongoing threat to the staff or visitors as they confirmed the park is once again open to guests.

“All animals are now in their exhibit and are being closely monitored by zoo staff. The zoo will open as normal today. Further details will be provided when possible,” they added.
