Eleven people were reportedly injured in a random stabbing incident by a man with a folding knife-style weapon at the Walmart in Traverse City, Michigan.
According to the county sheriff’s office, the 42-year-old suspect was taken into custody after authorities arrived within minutes. Shea did not name the suspect but mentioned how authorities believe he acted alone.
There is no data indicating that there were more suspects, the police shared.
It seemed to be all incidents involving random acts. Out of the victims, three were currently undergoing surgery, and more information is yet to be released about the status of the other victims. Meanwhile, six of the victims were male, and five of them were identified as females, but no other details were shared.
Munson Healthcare, which is a hospital system in northern Michigan, is currently treating 11 victims from the incident as per the latest post on Facebook.
Six of the victims are in a critical condition, and five were deemed serious as of yesterday night. All of the victims were stabbed with a knife, the Associated Press mentioned. As of right now, the suspect is in custody.
