At least 9 people were left fighting for their lives on Saturday evening after taking the London North Eastern Railway, where a serious stabbing incident occurred.
The exact location was identified near Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire, England. The train was said to be traveling from London North Eastern Railway between Doncaster and London King’s Cross.
As per the British Transport Police, several people were stabbed on board. A total of 10 victims were rushed to the hospital, of whom nine are believed to have life-threatening injuries.
Armed officers replied, and two men were arrested at Huntingdon station. The national Plato protocol for possible marauding terrorist attacks was first activated, and the Counter Terrorism Policing is supporting the investigation at this moment in time. Authorities claim not to jump to conclusions too early on as this could be an isolated incident as well.
So far, two suspects have been arrested for having strong links to the tragedy. Witnesses described scenes of absolute panic and chaos where passengers ran for cover. Some hid inside the toilets, while others saw a stabbing victim covered in blood, hanging from the train.
Right now, an investigation is taking place, but no motive for this attack has been confirmed publicly.
