BREAKING: ‘Salem’s Lot’ And ‘James At 16’ Star Lance Kerwin Has Passed Away


Former TV star Lance Kerwin has passed away at the age of 62.

The small-screen actor, who was best known for appearing in Salem’s Lot and James at 16 back in the 1970s, died on Tuesday at his California home.

The tragic news was confirmed by Kerwin’s daughter, Savanah, in a tear-jerking Facebook statement.

“We appreciate all the kind words, memories, and prayers that have been shared. As the coming weeks progress, I will share more information about after-life ceremonies,” she shared along with a family photo from the Maui Ocean Center.

Kerwin began his acting career in 1974 after landing his first role in an episode of Emergency! TV show.

Just years later, he secured the lead actor role in James at 15, his debut film which served as a pilot for the series James at 16.

Following his success with the show, Kerwin landed another major role in the 1979 movie adaptation of Stephen King’s novel Salem’s Lot.

In the following two decades, the aspiring actor made a series of smaller appearances in various short-lived TV shows and movies.

During this time, Kerwin also married his first wife Kristen Lansdale. After their marriage had failed, he tied the knot with his second wife Yvonne.

Back in 2010, news sources confirmed that the actor moved to Hawaii after being put on probation for five years over falsified documents with which he allegedly tried to obtain food stamps and state medical assistance.

Following his theft charge, Kerwin began working as a pastor and the local leader of a U-turn For Christ initiative.

Later, in 2021, a GoFundMe page asking for help stated that the actor had been struggling financially while suffering from health issues.
