Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker’s intimate wedding is set to be held at the Castello Brown fortress in Portofino, Italy.
Preparations were underway to prepare the lavish venue that overlooks the historic seaside village.
A 12ft gold structure in the shape of a mirror or picture frame was built at one end of the garden, and two other giant objects with large bowls on top were seen, possibly to serve as flaming bowls to illuminate the romantic scene.
Members of the Kardashian family are staying in a historic house next door to the castle.
The medieval castle operates as a museum for tourists. Curious onlookers in boats anchored in the cove adjacent to the fortress were watching the final preparations taking place one day before the wedding.
Designer suits, chic outdoor furniture, and bright floral arrangements were seen being delivered to the venue.
According to Mail Online, paths around the castle’s perimeter are closed off to the public to ensure that Kourtney and Travis will be able to control publicity for their grand wedding and also escape the prying eyes of paparazzi and tourists.
Staff signed legal agreements forbidding them from speaking about the ceremony, which has been billed as one of the grand showbiz events of the year.
A security guard at the entrance of the house said: “I’m not allowed to say anything. I don’t know anything about a wedding.”
A staff member connected with the wedding preparations told a reporter from Mail Online: “Yes, I am working here, but I can’t talk to you because I have signed an NDA (a Non Disclosure Agreement).”
Local villager Dino, who was walking his dog next to the castle, said that the medieval castle is used for many events including weddings, adding that the “terrace is magnificent and has the most wonderful views in the whole of Portofino.”
