King Charles’ soldiers honored Ozzy Osbourne yesterday with a musical tribute following the Prince of Darkness’ death.
Fan footage was shared on TikTok recently that displayed the Band of the Coldstream Guards taking part in their rendition of Black Sabbath’s famous tune: Paranoid during the changing of the guard ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
One commenter couldn’t help but gush over the awesome version and felt it was the proudest piece that they’ve heard in over 15 years.
Many overall thought it was a great gesture, and another mentioned it was Britishness at its finest. For those who might not be aware, the Changing of the Guard is a royal ceremony where active duty soldiers who work on patrol exchange places with the next rotation, swap spots to the tune of the music by a military band.
The guards honored the late Black Sabbath rocker on the day of his funeral procession in England, where crowds lined the streets in a reaction reminiscent of the public mourning of the royal death.
Osbourne passed away on Tuesday at the age of 76. This is over five years after he declared that he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in the year 2003.
