Jimmy Kimmel was seen addressing President Trump’s criticisms of his show’s return directly during his second show back.
The star returned on air on Tuesday despite Trump’s outcry against the decision. The news came afte a six day hiatus and during his monologue, he made sure to target the US President in more ways than one.
The 57 year old host read through Trump’s reaction to his show getting back on air. ‘You know a lot of people watched our show last night’- he began.
He then went on to reveal that he’s got so many texts from so many people. It made him realize that he’s got so many friends from all over the world that he didn’t realize were watching him. They shared their love, not to mention the ratings striking 6.5 million on its first day back.
He then went ont to remind the audience that a very special friend told him that Trump had threatened to sue ABC News over his return, laughing it off and then making a standard joke about the whole matter.
‘Moments after we taped our show last night, I was informed about something from my dear friend. ‘I can’t believe ABC Fake News gave Jimmy Kimmel his job back!’- Kimmel shared while reading directly from Trump’s Truth Social post.
‘You can’t believe that they gave me my job back? I can’t believe they gave you your job back! We are even!”- he chuckled.
