Taking to Monday’s Met Gala alongside her beau Pete Davidson, the 41-year-old socialite and reality TV star flexed her curves in the historic sparkling gown that Marilyn Manson wore as she sang Happy Birthday to John F. Kennedy back in 1962.

The iconic beaded dress, which was designed by Hollywood costume designer Jean Louis, currently has a home at Orlando’s Ripley’s Believe It or Not! after the museum bought it at an auction for nearly five million dollars.

For the special occasion, the dress has been borrowed by none other than the KUWTK star who revealed she was forced to lose 16 pounds in less than a month in order to fit into the gown.

“This is Marilyn Monroe’s dress. It’s sixty years old. I had this idea to put it on and try it on. They came with armed guards and gloves,” Kim told LaLa Anthony as she walked down the red carpet.

“I tried it on and it didn’t fit me. I had to lose 16lbs. I was determined to fit it. I did it. I dyed my hair blonde. I haven’t eaten carbs and sugar in three weeks.”

Speaking to Vogue about her desire to fit into the dress, Kim admitted she was reduced to tears when the gown appeared too small for her. She then embarked on a ruthless diet to achieve a massive weight loss in the short span leading to the Met Gala.

“I would wear a sauna suit twice a day, run on the treadmill, completely cut out all sugar and all carbs, and just eat the cleanest veggies and protein. I didn’t starve myself, but I was so strict,” she said.

While Marilyn Monroe allegedly paid just over $1,400 for the dress back in the early 1960s, the gown is considered one of the most expensive ones in the world after being sold for $4.81 million at an auction.
