Actress Drew Barrymore is leaving the world divided after coming up with her theory about why kids should not be rewarded with gifts during the holiday season.
We are just one month away from Christmas but the star refuses to give in to the pressure that comes during the festive season. And not everyone understood where the star was coming from.
Barrymore recently saw down for a one-on-one interview with Entertainment Tonight and that’s where she talked about her plans for the holiday season.
As a single mom, fans were dying to know what the mom engages in terms of making the holiday special for her kids who are just 8 and 10 in age. And that’s when the star gave a reality check insight into how the kids don’t get anything for Christmas, despite seeing others around them celebrate with gifts.
The actress and famous talkshow host revealed how thousands of kids across the country wake up to piles of plastic being wrapped in cute decorative gift-wrapping paper. But for her little ones, it’s far from that.
The star says her approach to the festive season is not like that at all. And she stays true to her principles and beliefs of keeping kids away from plastic.
But wait, the star says that don’t judge and this does not mean her don’t get anything at all. She prefers to engage in more meaningful activities.
They get to go on trips and make memories as this is something she feels will remain with them forever, instead of a few plastic toys.
Barrymore insists that her take on Christmas is all about spending time with loved ones and allowing children to appreciate things that matter the most. And that happens to be quality time with loved ones.
“I feel the best present of all is a life memory. Nothing can beat that, and in case you don’t agree, you should try it”- the host concluded.
