Speaking of their upbringing to People, the Stronger hitmaker recently revealed a strict rule she wants her kids to follow while living under her roof.

The rule? No social media until they’re at least 18 years old.

“That [social media] can be really hard on kids in general but especially kids with parents in the public eye,” Clarkson said as she defended her decision.

“So I have informed them they’re not allowed to, under my room, ever have it.”

The singer also admitted she might not be able to control what her kids do when they are at their dad’s place four days a month. However, she remains adamant about enforcing the rule under her roof.

“My daughter was like, ‘Well, what if Dad lets me?’ I’m like, ‘Well, you’re there four days a month. Enjoy that,’” she added.

Fortunately, both Brandon and Kelly agree on keeping their kids off of social media for the time being.

And while the ban was branded as harsh by critics, Clarkson remains convinced she’s doing the right thing for her kids. In the future, though, she might be swayed to listen to her children if they’re able to come up with a solid argument to be allowed to have social media accounts.

“I’ll listen when they’re older, but until they have a solid argument, it’s a no,” she concluded.
