Kelis has hit back at her critics after her relationship with actor Bill Murray went public.
The 43-year-old Milkshake hitmaker confirmed her romance with the 72-year-old actor and comedian as the two were seen together on multiple occasions in the last few weeks.
“They met up in the States before, which got people in the industry talking, and now are meeting up in London while they’re both here,” an insider previously told The Sun.
“They’ve clearly hit it off. They were both seen at the same hotel, and he’s been to watch her perform several times before he went to Mighty Hoopla.”
Speaking of the unexpected romance, the source continued: “Whatever it is that has brought them together, and however unlikely it seems, they are both single and are having fun despite the fairly big age gap.”
The news of the power couple’s relationship comes a year after Kelis lost her husband and the father to two of her three children to cancer. Murray, on the other hand, lost his ex-wife, Jennifer Butler, back in 2021.
After the dating rumors were confirmed, Murray and Kelis became a target for trolls who refused to see past their age gap and went on to accuse the singer of using her partner for his fame and fortune.
Slapping back at the negative comments, Kelis said:
“Yeah maybe for now everyone’s dumb and will believe anything but the best part is we are both blessed, rich and happy. So who’s really laughing now that’s funny.”
While critics are not holding back on shaming the new power couple and their unconventional relationship, Kelis and Murray seem to be doing perfectly fine.
The comedian was recently spotted attending several of his girlfriend’s shows in support and meeting her both in the UK and the US on several occasions.
