Katharine McPhee has opened up about her marriage to David Foster and revealed what keeps their marriage alive.
The 38-year-old singer and actress tied the knot with the 73-year-old record producer back in 2019. Now, she spoke out and revealed what the couple does on a regular basis to keep their spark alive.
Speaking to Fox News, the former American Idol runner-up said the couple enjoys “reconnecting” over dinner or during their movie night out.
Sometimes, they would also just sit and talk over a glass of wine to catch up and share what was on their minds with each other.
“I’ll have a glass of wine – he doesn’t drink – and we just talk. That’s our time together that we always make sure to have,” she explained.
“There’s always something to talk about whether it’s our family, our son – it’s our time, We just want to reconnect.”
McPhee went on to say that they were not into anything “extravagant” and that they prefer “going to a movie or having dinner together.”
The couple, who met back in 2006 on American Idol, share a son named Rennie who was born in February 2021.
Despite welcoming his son in his 70s, Foster previously told People that he hasn’t “regretted a single day of it” since he became a father again.
“I’ve loved every single day. It’s the standard thing of like: ‘Oh, well you were so young when you had your children and you were working day and night, you never saw them,’” he said.
“There is some truth to that, sadly, for my [older] kids. I was just working a lot. Even though I’m working a lot now, I’ll cancel anything just to hang with him. It’s just different.”
Foster was married a total of five times and has six children including Rennie, 1, Jordan, 36, Erin, 40, Sara, 41, Amy, 49, and Allison, 52.
