The Princess of Wales and the Duchess of Sussex completely ignored each other in the ten days of the Queen’s funeral events, reports claimed.
The Duke of Sussex’s truce with his brother Prince William may also collapse if he goes ahead with his initial plans to publish his bombshell memoir.
According to royal correspondent Russell Myers of the Daily Mirror, sources said that there would be no reconciliation despite attempts to show a united front until Harry’s ‘cards are on the table,’ and his book is either scrapped or published.
The royal insider also told Myers that the Royal Family continues to be in mourning “and are now finally being allowed to grieve” for the beloved Queen away from the eyes of the public.
“However, any talk of a truce between the Prince (William) and the Duke (Harry) would only be temporary.
“There is still a serious amount of distrust in the air and there hasn’t been any cause for that to change.”
Referring to the Duke of Sussex’s memoir, the source said: “The feeling is very much that there is little point in pursuing a repair in relations until all the cards are on the table.”
It is understood that the palace is concerned that the memoir may seek to damage and undermine King Charles.
In an interview with The Cut, only days before the late monarch passed away, the Duchess of Sussex seemed to make a threat that she would reveal more damaging details by saying: “I’ve never had to sign anything that restricts me from talking… I have a lot to say until I don’t.”
Myers also added that sources revealed Meghan and Kate were ‘not known’ to have exchanged words throughout the Sussexes’ stay in the UK.
In Meghan’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, she claimed that it was Kate who made her cry over a bridesmaid dress before her 2018 royal wedding and that the palace did not back her up despite reports that said the Duchess of Sussex made the former Duchess of Cambridge cry.
