Catherine Elizabeth Middleton, 40, the Duchess of Cambridge, is a member of the British royal family. Her husband, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, is second in the line of succession to the British throne, making Catherine a likely future queen consort.

According to a royal biographer, Ingrid Seward, Middleton is beginning to resemble Princess Diana as she continues to demonstrate confidence in her royal duties and now acting as the “Queen in a waiting.”

Seward said that Middleton’s recent royal engagements have demonstrated that the Duchess of Cambridge is an “all-rounder” capable of playing a variety of roles. She paid a touching tribute to the Duchess during True Royalty TV’s The Royal Beat saying that Middleton is gentle towards her children just like late Diana was.

Seward said: “She chats away. She talks a lot, and she has suddenly become more like Diana actually. Really chatting with people and engaging with them in a personal way, telling them little bits about herself.”

Earlier in the week, Ms. Seward told The Mirror: “She is patient, and has the ability to listen. And she has discovered she has this ability with people, she is very good with the very young and the very old. That is like Diana was.”

The Duchess of Cambridge came to the fore at a community carol service over Christmas where she took center stage and left the crowd in tears showing off her piano skills at Westminster Abbey. Her confident performance at the Royal Carols: Together At Christmas, was staged for people supporting their communities during the pandemic.

Seward explained that she has gone from someone in the royal shadows to now being comfortable in the limelight, saying: “Today there is definitely confidence and poise there. She has learnt to overcome her shyness.”

“On the advice of Prince Charles, you don’t have to rush into taking on hundreds of charities. You can take your time and enjoy your family, and I believe having her family has helped her gain confidence,” she added.

Middleton was joined by her closest friends and family members at Anmer Hall for a quiet and private 40th birthday celebration last January 9. It was revealed that Kate and William may share a joint birthday party in the summer.

Last year, the Cambridges celebrated Middleton’s 39th birthday during lockdown where she was reportedly treated to a tea party put on by Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Middleton had been laying the ground for her royal work for years, focusing in particular on mental health, addictions, and the early years. It was observed that her confident public appearances combined with her charity work show she is prepared to step into a big role when her husband Prince William eventually becomes king.

Ms. Seward also pointed out how Middleton was always very capable from when she was a child and excelled in different activities. She said: “William and Harry believe that Kate has developed her knack for royal duties from being multiskilled in her youth.”

She continued: “While it is not in Kate’s nature to push herself forward, she has always been very competitive, since her school days when she played in the netball and lacrosse teams.”

“From a young age, Kate was an all-rounder. She learns to sail, rock climb, and ski as a young girl, she loves cooking, dressing up, and making clothes, she learns piano, her father also taught her to play tennis to a high standard,” she added.

This year will also mark Middleton’s first decade in the Royal Family, after she married Prince William in April 2011. It is thought that the Queen will rely on the Duchess of Cambridge and will play an even more important role in 2022.
