The international judo federation has reportedly kicked out Russian leader Vladamir Putin as its honorary ambassador.
According to local media reports, the news comes at a time when the conflict between the countries of Russia and Ukraine is at its peak, with the former starting a full-blown out war against its neighboring country.
Inside sources deemed the reason for Putin’s suspension to be the ongoing war and for that reason, they simply could not afford to have his face as an honorary president for such a noble sport that supports peace and no violence.
In the same way, the federation made sure that the world was clear about its stance against Russia, and for that reason, they opted to cancel the Grand Slam taking place in Russia currently.
Other reports revealed how Russian forces who entered the city of Kharkiv are now on a mission to take over control after failing to storm the capital and seizing it as a whole.
Today, Ukrainian defense forces managed to obliterate an entire column belonging to Chechen forces who opted to join in with Russian military groups to help invade Ukraine. But their plans were foiled after facing great resistance, which included the death of a renowned Chechen commander.
At the moment, Putin’s status remains suspended, despite the leader being a judo black belt himself. He is also known to have co-authored one book related to the sport, which is titled, ‘Judo: History, Theory, Practice.’
In the year 2008, the Russian President was granted the honorary status as president of the federation, which is considered to be his greatest and most senior position in the world of sports.
