Days after his dramatic win in the blockbuster defamation trial against Amber Heard, the Pirates of the Caribbean star treated a group of some twenty people – including Beck – to a dinner at Birmingham’s Varanasi restaurant.

At the classy curry house, Depp happily posed for photos with his fans and shook hands before he and his group allegedly racked up a $62,000 bill that was paid in full by the actor, DailyMail.com revealed.

Speaking of Depp’s visit to the restaurant, Varanasi Operations Director Mohammed Hussain said he was shocked to see the actor walk into the curry house.

“We had a call out of the blue on Sunday afternoon saying that Johnny Depp wanted to come to eat with a group of people. I was shocked and at first, I thought it might have been a wind up. But then his security team arrived, checked out the restaurant and we let them have the whole place because we were concerned that he might be bothered by other diners,” Hussain told MailOnline.

“He was a very lovely, down to earth bloke who spent a lot of time speaking with the staff, our friends and family and was happy to pose for pictures with them. You would never have thought that he was such a big star. He had a lot of time for us all.”

The operations director continued: “We had to promise that we would not reveal the final bill but let’s just put it this way; money was no issue, and it was easily in five figures. We made more money from Depp’s visit than we did from our busiest night of the week, which is a Saturday when we have around 400 diners.

“In addition to the food, there was champagne, wine and all kinds of drinks being downed. Depp and his group had a great time. They loved the food, the ambience of the restaurant and the service that we provided. It was a real honor to have him here.”
