Hollywood legend Johnny Depp teamed up with iconic singer-songwriter Rod Stewart for a charity event on Saturday night.
Performing side by side at a London event, Depp and Stewart managed to raise over $300,000 for supermodel Celia Hammond’s Animal Trust which focuses on helping underprivileged and stray cats and kittens.
According to the two iconic figures, they “couldn’t be happier” to have the opportunity to team up and raise a fortune for the charity.
The high-profile event was held at Ned Hotel in Bank and hosted by 81-year-old Celia Hammond, a supermodel from the 60s, with attendees bidding for the tickets at Mark Aldridge’s Teddy Bear’s Picnic event last year.
“Celia’s devotion and commitment to protecting vulnerable and neglected animals is beyond admirable,” the Pirates of the Caribbean star said in an interview with DailyMail.com.
“I’m so glad to be part of the evening’s success, and with the added bonus of playing alongside my friend, Sir Rod Stewart.”
Stewart added: “I’m thrilled to perform at this most intimate event this weekend with fellow musician, Johnny Depp.”
Stewart and Depp previously teamed up in May as they held two concerts in honor of late guitarist and rock legend Jeff Beck.
As for Hammond, the former model gave life to her animal trust by opening two low-cost veterinary clinics in London before expanding to other regions.
“I cannot thank Sir Rod Stewart and Johnny Depp enough and of course, Mark Aldridge for creating such a magical experience for us,” she said of Depp and Stewart’s involvement.
“We are blown away by the support we have received which was desperately needed for us to continue our important animal rescue work.”
