Jamie Foxx has finally spoken out for the first time since being hospitalized to address rumors that he was left paralyzed and blinded after a ‘medical complication’.

His daughter, Corrie Fox, took to social media and shared the heartbreaking news of his hospitalization, writing: “We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday [Tuesday].

“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”

But after the ‘medical condition,’ rumors about the actor being left blinded and paralyzed started circulating online.

Foxx has now taken to his own Instagram account and broke his silence to clear up the speculations regarding his health.

“Thank u a billion to everybody… been a long road but all the prayers great people and God got me through…” he captioned his video.

He then addressed rumors that he had been left blind and paralyzed by the illness, saying: “First of all I want to say thank you to everybody that’s prayed, man, and sent me messages. I cannot even begin to tell you how far it took me and how it brought me back.”

Foxx continued: “I went through something I thought I would never ever go through. I know a lot of people were waiting and wanting to hear updates but to be honest with you, I just didn’t want you to see me like that, man.

“I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, television show.

“I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through. And to be honest with you my sister and my daughter Corinne saved my life.

“To them, to God, to a lot of great medical people, I’m able to leave you this video.”

The actor also expressed how great it felt to have his family around him. “They protected me, and that’s what I hope that everyone can have in moments like these,” he added.

“Some said I was paralyzed, I’m not paralyzed but I did go through… I went to hell and back and my road to recovery had some potholes as well.

“But I’m coming back and I’m able to work so I want to thank people that let me work. And I just want to say I love everybody and I love all the love I got.”
