James Corden has been slammed after taking a jab at Jada Pinkett just days after the controversial events of the 94th Academy Awards.
On Sunday night, Will Smith surprised the world as he stormed the stage at Dolby Theatre and slapped presenter Chris Rock in the face after the latter made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s baldness.
Following the shocking incident, people, including Hollywood elites, have begun taking sides with some condemning the King Richard star for his display of violence and others defending him for standing up for his wife.
Now, comedian, actor, and producer James Cordon took a jab directly at Jada Pinkett in a controversial musical skit for CBS’ The Late Late Show with James Corden.
In the clip, Corden and the crew can be heard discussing which Sunday night events they should cover in their program.
“I mean it’s pretty obvious what we should talk about,” one producer says while referring to Will Smith’s notorious slap.
Another producer then chimes in saying: “CODA winning Best Picture, it was so good and so well-deserved.”
“Or we could talk about the thing that everybody is talking about,” the first producer argued after the proposal.
That’s when Corden joins the debate saying: “No, you saw what happened. We have to talk about something else.”
“James, we have to at least acknowledge,..” another producer then tells the TV host who promptly interrupted her saying: “We don’t talk about Jada, no, no, no.”
The Encanto tune ‘We Don’t Talk About Bruno’ then starts rolling in the background with Corden singing “We don’t talk about Jada, no, no, no.”
After making a mockery out of Jada Pinkett, Corden moved on by singing of other worthy Sunday night moments before returning to the “we don’t talk about Jada, no, no, no” chorus.
The parody was received with mixed thoughts on the internet where some viewers slammed the comedian for joking about Jada Pinkett Smith who is suffering from alopecia.
“Had we stopped mocking Black women for too long for your comfort?” someone wrote.
“James Corden making the worst jokes that you will ever hear,” another said.
