The story comes from Blairsville in Georgia where a single mom says she was left with no choice but to give her kids the job of looking after her other kids because that was the only way she could make a living.

“My children watched as they handcuffed me but I had no choice”- the mother revealed.

As a mother of five, earning money was not a choice for her but a necessity because she had bills to pay and children to feed.

Moreover, Melissa explained how she couldn’t put her four-year-old son in daycare because they were all ordered to be shut due to the pandemic.

“I put my daughter Linley in charge of my little son who is 4, while I was out doing my job”- the emotional mother began to explain.

At that time, Linley was getting schooled online because cases were increasing.

Everything appeared to be going fine until one day, her young son peeked out the window and wanted to go outside. Linley was busy attending her lecture online and as a four-year-old, he did what most kids would do.

He managed to go outside without letting his older sister notice.

About 15 minutes later, Linley saw how her brother was missing and she began to panic.

Thankfully, he was safe but inside the neighbor’s house and that’s when the neighbors called the police on the mother as they felt it was her responsibility to look after the kids, and not her teen daughter’s.

Police rushed to the scene and took immediate notice of what was going on. And in the end, they arrested Melissa for criminal reckless conduct.

But now, the mother says that she doesn’t have words on what to say and how it makes her feel. She claims to be a good mother, adding how everything she did and does is for her kids.
