Jada Pinkett-Smith once again raised plenty of eyebrows with her bombshell reveals amid the promotion of her new book.
The 52-year-old actress remotely appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Monday shortly after she revealed that she and Hollywood A-lister Will Smith have been separated for seven years.
Speaking out from the comfort of her home due to Colbert’s Covid diagnosis, Jada now appeared to make a U-turn saying Will is still her man and her right hand.
“I knew it was going to get some attention,” she said of her previous comments.
“I am surprised it is getting as much attention as it is, but you know I think it all has a lot to do with that there’s not a lot of programming on TV.”
Stephen responded: “People are very interested in you and your family. People were really surprised to find out that you and your former husband, still husband or former husband?”
Jada added: “That’s still my man. I just call us life partners, but he’s my dude. He’s my right hand.”
When asked about the reasoning behind keeping their alleged separation a secret, she continued: “I wasn’t ready. Listen, uncoupling consciously is a very difficult thing. Right? And so, in this process of learning how to I had a lot of things I had to resolve so it wasn’t like a war in public. I didn’t want that for Will and I. And so I really needed time to get myself together.”
Jada also claimed that the 2022 Oscars incident involving Chris Rock only brought her and Will closer together again.
“And in that process of my healing, I just realized, do I really want to be divorced? Do I really want to be separated? And then the Oscars came. And believe it or not, it’s like, it’s crazy how intense events can bring people together. Because once the Oscars happen, Will and I got closer,” the actress said.
These comments come shortly after Jada revealed that she and Will have been separated, but not divorced, for seven years.
