The Woke bishop who gained fame for mixing politics into a religious sermon during Donald Trump’s inauguration is breaking her silence with an urgent appeal for America.
Mariann Budde requested Americans have a different kind of conversation about tackling the growing issues plaguing the nation.
She also shared how it was shameful that she was getting death threats for speaking the truth and showing nothing but respect to the president of the USA.
Budde spoke to MSNBC recently after facing a wave of outrage in the aftermath of her speech at the National Prayer Service.
‘Well, I’ve had people wish me dead. Others want me deported. I don’t understand where all this hate and negativity is coming from’- she went on to mention.
She said it was shocking to see the response from many pro-Trump supporters tackling red hot issues. She felt that a lot of people didn’t quite understand her message of peace and unity and therefore went on a different course altogether.
“I was actually trying to encourage a different kind of conversation and you have every right to disagree with me. But there’s a way of doing that”- she continued.
