Bungee jumping can appear to be all fun and games, but the reality is quite different from what it seems.
For one woman, the adrenaline rush is something she’s been in search of for quite some time now. Tragically, things didn’t go as planned and her exhilarating experience turned into a nightmare in no time.
According to reports from local media outlets, her cord snapped mid-air and that sent her plunging into the crocodile-infested waters below.
Erin Langworthy, who is a young traveler in her early twenties, was said to be exploring Zambia in 2012 when she decided to take on the very daring bungee jump.
The jump was from a bridge overlooking the giant Zambezi River. It’s a famous spot for all thrill seekers, but instead of bouncing right back up as expected, her cord failed.
This caused her to freefall 360 feet straight into the fast-moving river. There was even a video published of the terrifying endeavor that later surfaced online through social media.
There was a moment by moment capture of Langworthy hitting the waters with extreme force. The impact attained was brutal and she struggled against the strong current.
She fought to stay afloat as the river carried her downstream. Danger was seen lurking from below and many thought that was her end as her injuries and the crocodiles would get the best of her. Shockingly, she survived miraculously and was rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital.
