Pakistan’s security sources claim that three fighter jets belonging to the Indian Air Force were shot down near Ahmedpur East in Bahalwapur amid rapidly intensifying hostilities between both sides.
The reported shoot-down incident comes as part of the ongoing military engagements after the cross-border strikes that started at the beginning of the week. Official confirmation and details from Pakistan’s military spokesperson are now being awaited.
This marks a huge escalation in the conflict, and both nations are nuclear powers, which raises the alarm over the region’s stability.
The Pakistan Air Force managed to shoot down a third Indian Rafale fighter jet, this time located southwest of Awantipora, which is nearly 17 nautical miles from that location. This marks the third Indian warplane downed by the Pakistan Air Force in the ongoing escalation.
Pakistan’s Information Minister shared how the country had every right to defend itself against threats after India chose to target civilian locations for no reason.
The minister reiterated that Pakistan seeks peace and stability in the region but will not compromise on national sovereignty or security. The incident took place at about 12:40 am when radar systems detected the Indian aircraft making an unprovoked incursion into the Pakistani territory. In reply, Pakistani forces acted in accordance with standard protocols to intercept and neutralize the leading threat.
