Donald Trump has confirmed that the news of a popular visa will now rocket in price from a shocking $1500 to $100,000.
This means bad news for all those willing to come to the US to work, as their employers would now need to spend a hefty sum of money on them.
The American president signed the controversial executive order that will be impacted foreign skilled workers the most as he claimed that there has been a serious abuse of the sceme while some critics argue that it undermines the US workforce.
President Trump’s former ally, Elon Musk, has long been a supporter for this scheme, saying that it enables the US to bring in the best of the best talent from all over the globe.
Ironically, First Lady Melania Trump also came to the US on the H-1B vist to work as a model from her own mother nation of Slovenia. Worst, it turns out that this $100k cost for the visa needs to be paid each year for nearly six years. This was confirmed yesterday by the US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.
The firm needs to first decide if this person is valuable enough to have the $100k a year payment to the government or should they be heading home. They might also consider hiring an American which would be so much more cheaper for them. As per reports, this order will comem into play starting tomorrow, which is September 21.
