JK Rowling isn’t willing to accept ignorant Emma Watson’s olive branch after years of feuding over the rights of the trans community.
Both Watson and her Harry Potter co-star Daniel Radcliffe have publicly criticized the Harry Potter author’s anti-trans views, but the star recently softened her stance and said she had hoped she and Rowling could come to some kind of understanding.
The 60-year-old controversial author scoffed at the thought of making amends in the lengthy and scathing statement that was shared through X on Monday.
“I am not owed eternal agreement from any celeb who once played a character that I created. The idea is as ludicrous as me checking with the boss I had when I was 21 for what opinions I should hold these days’- she mentioned. She also acknowledged that Watson and Radcliffe have every right in the world to embrace gender identity ideology.
‘However, Emma and Dan in particular have both made it so clear over the past couple of years that they think our former professional association gives them a certain right, nay, an obligation to critique me, and my views in public.point 312 |
Years after they finished acting in this movie, they continue to assume the role of de facto spokesperson for the world that I created’- she added.point 128 | 1
