Former Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins has reportedly passed away after being attacked in jail.
The news was confirmed by authorities this morning, who mentioned that the two male attackers responsible for his death were similarly arrested.
As per reports from local media outlets, Watkins was said to be serving a 29-year-long sentence for child abuse-related crimes at the HMP Wakefield in West Yorkshire in England.
Paramedics were rushed to the prison after the Welsh musician was attacked with a sharp knife, and he ended up getting fatal injuries that led to his unexpected and brutal death. Therefore, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, a prison spokesperson spoke to the BBC about how they were well aware of this incident at the prison but unable to comment further as the police are carrying out investigations.
Watkins previously shared how the lead singer for the Lostprophets was from a Welsh rock band that topped the UK charts in 2006 after the release of their third album. Both men have been said to be in custody in regards to the murder.
In 2013, Watkins pleaded guilty to 13 charges, including assault on kids and possessing an indecent picture of youngsters.
