Donald Trump has survived another major attempt to be impeached as the US House voted in his favor with a 237-140 majority.
The news means the resolution from Rep. Al Green to impeach Trump has now been set aside.
Sources have confirmed that all Republicans voted in the so-called motion to table, while Democrats were split between opposing the motion and voting present.
House Democratic leaders happened to be among the 47 members of the minority party to register the present vote, stating earlier in the day how they were continuing the fight to make life more affordable for Americans on a daily basis.point 309 |
Even as many House Democrats privately believe Trump should not be in office or is deserving of impeachment, they are largely loath to advance a vote that’s tough for lawmakers in the purple district and is doomed to fail in the Republican controlled Senate.point 221 | 1
