Passengers are sharing their absolute shock and horror after onboarding a flight at Milan International Airport yesterday.
According to reports from local media outlets, the passengers shared their horror after being told not to look out of the window after a man chose to take his life on the runway.
He did so by jumping into the plane’s engine, sources have confirmed.
They recalled hearing the most dreadful sounds before being warned, with many getting scared and panicked in terms of what was taking place.
Andrea Russo was 35, and he was neither a passenger nor a staff member at the airport. He entered the terminal inside his red Fiat 500 car before abandoning the vehicle and running into the building.
Sources shared how he arrived at the airport without any ticket and made his way into the restricted area leading to the runway before two Border Police guards on duty noticed something fishy and did everything to stop him.
He managed to break free from their grip and started to run towards the tarmac and threw himself into one of the plane’s turbofans on the Volotea Airbus A319 flight V73511 from Milan to Asturias.
One of the passengers on board the flight shared how there was a sudden loud sound and then a bang. Some saw it through the windows and started to scream and put their hands on their heads. ‘They told us not to look because it was very unpleasant’- the passenger shared.
